There was one "scene" (if you want to call it that) which involved tentacles. It had lesbian, werewolves, tentacles and whatever else, but its all behind this spot the difference sort of puzzle game. Seemed okay I guess but I completely ignored whatever story it was trying to tell.

Is it weird that when I see high quality CGs like these, I instinctively think the game must be shit in some other way?

Nah, that seems to be the rule in my experience. The more cartoony, the better the gameplay and porn. The more realistic, the shittier the game. i think i've only seen a few games that look high quality with good content and most em were gay games. sure, i'm down for that but not everyone is.
